Summerhead

When it comes to picking winners my stats are impeccable, now if the band above get into a studio, there are two major winning songs and enough really good material to make this band the one that I'd say is one of the best getting around Adelaide at the moment, if you see them at a gig, wait till like the last three songs, there's a song in there that has a syncopated dub a dub dub dub dub a Dubai dub type rhythmic lyrical thing that'll knock your suspenders off, it's accoustic driven music, played at a great level with a full kit but light tasteful call and response sensitive drumming, not understated because the beat is solid, just sitting within the music, the bass licks are the same, they're there but well mixed in, the band all know when to hold em, know when to fold em, out front you have two singers , a male and a female voice that blend really well, also, and this is something a lot of bands should learn, mouth to mike position, Summerhead have got that nailed, they know how to mix the vocals in relation to the power in nuances of the voices. So with this in mind what you will get at a gig is something which has been getting lost of late, good playing, it can't be patched in, auto tuned out, it's built from chemistry and dedication to craft and only shows up if the members of any outfit understand this. Summerhead has this in spades, as a matter of fact and I've said this openly to the members, I believe that they're almost too dedicated to performance before committing to recording, I would say that they are ready to lay down an ep, I think the turkeys baked, it's time, anyway the point of this blurb is that I'm not a betting man but I bet that their first album will be picked up by a lot of people, the simple truth is, a good song is a good song, a good band is a good band and if you have those two elements you're going to get good music.
