Stupid Little World

William Street Strikers

A Tub Thumping stomp that belts the resignation of the mundanity of existence and futility of competing in a game in which the dice are loaded.

Track 7 off Cabramatta Sunrise, " Know More" is the resolution of the severing of ties to the everyday world and the abandonment to the milieu of outliers who live in the gritty buzzard like world of the traumatised. The use of brass throws the sonic reference to the mid 20th century inhabited by the figures of William Burroughs and Miles Davis

Relapse

William Street Strikers

Side B and the Yin to the Yang of " Feel, Know Pain! " Relapse " is years past the early romantic courtship of disaster.
The author travels down a well worn path of the fall from the wagon and the stony road on which they land as they crawl the slow agonising descent to hell.

Chemical Comedown is the figurative bow being drawn and arrow flying in the trajectory of the authors journey towards the depths of despair. The narrator is in the early party scene of disco biscuits, whizz & Peruvian marching power. It’s a four day on, three day down cycle where there doesn’t appear to be any danger lurking just beyond field of vision. A narration with faux detached despair that does not anticipate the eventual progression to hell that awaits as the arrow hits its peak and does what it must do.

“‘Here comes the light “ is a story of two prostitutes. The narrator is a rent boy working the Wall at Kings Cross & Jenny is a Girl on the avenue of William Street. They share a flat in Darlinghurst where they have a simple relationship. They’re Addicts unburdened with any need for shame nor explanation in their dysfunctional but symbiotic pairing. They live on junk time,a cellular equation of shot needed, shot completed. The title represents the vampiric nature of those who live on the periphery of society like rats in the wall. The light is both truth, trauma and tragedy that they try to keep at bay by cloaking themselves in the dark with its comforting blanket of numbness. #studiodiary #cabramattasunrise
